Timothy Gioe is the owner and founder of Crescent City Psychiatric. Timothy (Tim) is a Family Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with prescriptive authority. He completed his undergraduate studies at Louisiana State University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. Upon graduation, he worked as a Registered Nurse at River Oaks Hospital from 2011 to 2014. He gained not only hands on behavioral health experience with children, adolescents, and adults, but also worked as the weekend Nursing Supervisor during this time. As a Nursing Supervisor, he was responsible for overseeing five different specialty units: Adult Psychiatry, Chemical Dependency, Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health, Trauma, and Eating Disorders.
While at River Oaks, Tim obtained his Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham graduating in December 2013 with Magna Cum Laude Honors. In early 2014, he was awarded certification as a PMHNP through the ANCC, and later obtained licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) through the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. He was granted Prescriptive Authority by the Board of Nursing, and was also issued a license by the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy to prescribe Controlled Substances.
He also worked at Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority (JPHSA) from 2014 to 2015. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners, as well as Sigma Theta Tau International.
Tim decided to open his own private practice, Crescent City Psychiatric L.L.C, in October 2014. He resides in Lakeview with his wife, Sarah, and son, Thomas. He is a devoted New Orleans Saints and LSU Football fan. He is excited to serve the great people that live here.
